Derek prefers Joshua vs Wilder fight
British heavyweight Derek Chisora commented on the postponement of the unification fight in heavyweight between the world champion according to WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO Alexander Usik and WBC title holder Tyson Fury.
“Tyson said that he would sue Alexander if he did not fight him on December 23. This shows that life is not fair. Do you understand me? This shows how unfair life is,” Chisora said.
“To be honest, we expected their fight to happen this year. We wanted them to fight this year. But you know what? This is more for the biggest fight. Sorry, but that’s how it is. “Anthony Joshua vs. Deontay Wilder is a bigger fight than Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk.”
The fight between Usik and Fury was planned to be organized on December 23, but the “Gypsy King” will not have time to prepare for this time after the fight with Francis Ngannou. It is reported that the Briton received two cuts in a fight with the former UFC champion.
Usyk and Fury are expected to enter the ring in February 2024. Note that the contract for the fight for the absolute heavyweight title contains a rematch clause.
