The current UFC bantamweight champion is American. Sean O’Malley will have a new fight with the Ecuadorian Marlon Vera in March next year, the UFC chief said on social networks Dana White .
O’Malley defeated compatriot Aljamain Sterling in August to win the title. In O’Malley’s last fight with Vera in August 2020, the Ecuadorian was stronger, winning by technical knockout.
White also announced that the fight for the UFC featherweight champion between Australian Alexander Volkanovski and Ilia Topuria will take place in February. The middleweight title fight between champion Sean Strickland (USA) and South African Dricus du Plessis will take place in January.
