UFC champion in the lightweight category, Russian mixed martial arts fighter Islam Makhachev rose for the first time in his career to first place in the ranking of the best fighters of the promotion, regardless of the weight category (P4P). He currently shares the top spot with American Jon Jones.
It is noteworthy that according to the results of the previous update of the P4P ranking, which took place at the end of October, Makhachev rose to second place, displacing Australian Alexander Volkanovski to third place. It was the “wolf” that Makhachev won in the main fight of the UFC 294 tournament in Abu Dhabi (UAE). The 31-year-old Russian hit the Australian with a high kick, after which he fell and Makhachev began to finish him off. As a result, the referee stopped the fight, awarding Islam a victory by technical knockout.
Islam Makhachev has 25 wins with one loss during his MMA career. The name of his next opponent is currently unknown.
