In October, Makhachev, 32, defended the UFC lightweight championship belt, defeating Australian Alexander Volkanovski by first-round knockout. On November 7, the Russian fighter in the updated version of the P4P rankings moved from second to first place, ahead of American Jon Jones, who holds the promotion’s heavyweight championship belt.
