According to Tony, there is no heavyweight in the entire history of boxing who could defeat the Ukrainian
Former world cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew spoke extremely complimentarily about his former opponent, holder of the WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight titles Alexandra Usik.
“This guy is the greatest heavyweight who ever lived. There is no heavyweight in the history of sports who would defeat Oleksandr Usyk, I don’t care who we’re talking about. Evander Holyfield would probably figure it out, but he wouldn’t catch it.”
Tony previously admitted that in the fight against Alexander, the referee “saved his life.”
Usik met Bellew in 2018 in a fight for the world cruiserweight titles. The Ukrainian won by technical knockout in the eighth round. After the fight, Bellew announced his retirement from his professional career.
In his last fight, WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight title holder Usyk defeated Briton Daniel Dubois. The Ukrainian knocked out his opponent in the ninth round.
In his next fight, the Ukrainian champion must fight with WBC belt holder Tyson Fury for the status of the absolute world heavyweight champion. According to the latest information, the fight is scheduled for February 2024.
