Zhilei: If Joshua wants to fight me, let him send me a contract

The Chinese heavyweight noted that previously the British team had not shown any real interest in the fight

Chinese heavyweight, WBO interim belt holder Zhang Zhilei stated that he is ready to fight with the former world champion Anthony Joshua.

“I think Joshua is a great option for me, given that Fury and Usyk signed a contract for a unification fight. “I have a history with Anthony Joshua and I used to work for Matchroom Boxing, but they never wanted to make the fight.”

“All of a sudden Eddie Hearn was talking about a fight between me and Anthony Joshua, but I never saw that fight come to fruition. If they’re really interested, I’m here 24/7, so send me the contract and we’ll make it happen.”

“When I was with Matchroom, my team spoke to Matchroom face to face and they knew I wanted the fight, but for some reason they never decided to make it happen. I can go to London to fight Joshua, Saudi Arabia is an option or even China.”

Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn previously named the Chinese heavyweight among possible contenders for a fight with the Briton. Hearn noted that Zhilei may not be ready for the fight in December.

Zhilei in his last fight defeated Joe Joyce in a rematch, which took place in London. Zhang knocked out the Briton in the third round. After the fight, Zhang alternately challenged Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usik to a fight.

Previously, Zhilei’s manager Terry Lane stated that Tyson Fury was the first target for their team. Lane believes that three boxers remain at the top of the heavyweight division – Usyk, Fury and Zhang, while the rest are much lower than this three.
