Russian Sayan Khertek won a gold medal at the World Sambo Championships, which are held in Yerevan.
In the final, he won a quick victory over the representative of Georgia, Vakhtangi Chidrashvili, with a score of 2:0 in the weight category up to 58 kilograms.
Khertek became world champion for the third time. He had already won in 2017 and 2022. He also has two silver medals and one bronze at the world championships.
The World Sambo Championships take place in Yerevan from November 10 to 12. Russian and Belarusian athletes participate in the tournament in neutral status.
