Russian Aslan Kurbanov suffered a broken jaw and concussion at the World Sambo Championships in Yerevan, reports the press service of the All-Russian Sambo Federation .
On Saturday, Kurbanov, who competed in the weight category up to 88 kg, was forced to withdraw from the tournament after being injured in a fight with Georgian Mishiko Nozadze. Earlier, the federation said the athlete had suffered a “serious injury”.

Kurbanov is the 2023 Russian sambo champion, as well as a three-time winner of the World Universal Combat Championship.
