Bellator American Fighter Brent Primus reacted to the news of the disqualification of a Russian fighter Usman Nurmagomedov .
Earlier, it became known that Bellator lightweight champion Russian MMA fighter Usman Nurmagomedov was suspended for six months by the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) after testing positive for a banned drug. This was reported by journalist Ariel Helwani, citing CSAC executive director Andy Foster.
According to him, the Russian tested positive after his fight with Brent Primus at the Bellator 300 tournament, which Nurmagomedov won by unanimous decision. After disqualification, this fight received the status of “did not take place”.
— Today, Andy Foster informed me that my Bellator opponent Usman Nurmagomedov tested positive for a banned substance and our fight was declared invalid. I want to thank Bellator for working together to promote clean sport. “I am training hard and I will be ready to come back to the Grand Prix,” said Primus, as quoted by Ariel Helwani on his social networks
Nurmagomedov is an undefeated fighter, he has 18 victories in 18 fights. In October, he rose to third place in Bellator’s pound-for-pound rankings.
