Athletistic/MMA. Russian Bellator champion Usman Nurmagomedov commented on the situation with a failed drug test. In his statement, he noted that as a result of tests, a banned substance was discovered that had entered his body through medicines prescribed by a doctor as part of a prescribed treatment. Nurmagomedov admitted that he did not inform the sports commission before the fight.
Nurmagomedov emphasized that he provided the commission with all the necessary documents, extracts and medical certificates during the in-depth investigation. As a result of these efforts, his suspension period was reduced to 6 months, instead of the longer suspension adopted in such cases. At this point, Bellator has confirmed that Nurmagomedov remains the organization’s champion.
