Athletistic/MMA. The California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) has suspended Bellator lightweight champion Usman Nurmagomedov. According to information from American journalist Ariel Helwani, citing CSAC executive director Andy Foster, the Russian fighter was disqualified for six months for violating anti-doping rules.

Nurmagomedov allegedly received a prescription for the use of a banned drug, but did not request a therapeutic exemption. The Russian was fined $50,000 and registered with the Voluntary Doping Control Association. Additionally, the result of Nurmagomedov’s championship fight with American Brent Primus at the Bellator 300 tournament was overturned. Usman won by unanimous decision, defending his title in the semifinals of the Bellator Grand Prix.
