Russian Said Saidov won gold at the World Championships, taking place in Yerevan, in the combat sambo discipline.
Saidov (weight category up to 88 kg) defeated Armenian Avetik Poghosyan in the final. Moroccan Mustafa Muknaj and Bekten Erkebay Uulu (Kyrgyzstan) became bronze medalists in this weight category.
The World Sambo Championships take place in Yerevan from November 10 to 12. Russian, Belarusian and French athletes participate in the tournament in neutral status.
