Head of the UFC Dana White reacted to the British victory Tom Aspinella in a fight with a Russian Sergei Pavlovich .
On Saturday at UFC 295 in New York, the Briton knocked out the Russian in the first round and became the interim UFC heavyweight champion.
“I don’t know if Tom will defend the interim title. Let’s see. Aspinall took the fight on short notice and looked great against Pavlovich. Now he has plenty of money to rest for a while. “We’ll see,” White said at a news conference.
For the 31-year-old Russian, the defeat against Aspinall was the second of his career. He previously lost in his UFC debut in November 2018, when he lost to Dutch representative Alistair Overeem in the first round. All eight of Pavlovich’s UFC fights ended in the first round.
