Russian MMA fighter Sergei Pavlovich deleted the phrase on Telegram about the desire to take revenge on the British Tom Aspinella after losing the UFC interim heavyweight title fight.
On Saturday at UFC 295 in New York, the Briton knocked out the Russian in the first round and became the interim UFC heavyweight champion.
On Sunday, Pavlovich published an article containing the following phrase: “I want revenge, maybe not right away, but my goal is to take revenge on Tom.” There is now no such proposal in the Russian fighter’s message. The updated version of Pavlovich’s post now looks like this:
“I have not suffered any damage to my health, I am fine.” Tom turned out to be faster, I wasn’t lucky to hit him right away, but he turned out to be more accurate. I decided to take a hit. I will be back in the cage soon, I want to be active and efficient to have a chance to fight for the belt again. This is my goal and we will achieve it,” Pavlovich wrote.
For the 31-year-old Russian, the defeat against Aspinall was the second of his career. He previously lost in his UFC debut in November 2018, when he lost to Dutch representative Alistair Overeem in the first round. All eight of Pavlovich’s UFC fights ended in the first round.
