Well-Known Promoter Doesn’t Give British Boxer a Chance
Promoter Frank Warren predicts an early victory for the WBA/WBO/IBF champion Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) in a rematch with Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs).
“I was very surprised how easily Usyk handled Joshua in the first fight. Alexander boxed the way he was told and did not try to knock out Joshua. But there were a few moments during the fight, including in the last round, when Usyk could take him down.”
“I think Usyk will stop Joshua early this time. This is not the same revenge as with Andy Ruiz, who was preparing in his barn. Alexander is a perfect athlete, he trains hard in the camp, he takes this fight seriously. So Joshua will have a lot of problems. Also don’t forget that he doesn’t have the advantage of home walls this time.”
The revenge of the Englishman and the Ukrainian will take place on August 20 in Saudi Arabia. Usyk will defend the heavyweight championship belts for the first time, which he took from Anthony last fall.
