Head coach of the Russian national sambo team Dmitry Troshkin on called the performance of national athletes at the World Championships in Yerevan brilliant.
Russian athletes won 13 gold, two silver and three bronze medals and took first place in the team event.
— The main objective is first place in the general team ranking. As practice shows, if you win three gold medals, this is already a guarantee of victory. We exceeded the target in the men’s team, five gold medals out of seven – a very commendable result. The guys played the tournament brilliantly. All the matches were tense, but many of them were early victories,” Troshkin said on .
The World Sambo Championships took place in Yerevan from November 10 to 12. Russian athletes participated in the tournament in neutral status.
