Former UFC champion in two weight categories Conor McGregor wrote that he was not surprised by the Russian fighter’s failed doping test Usman Nurmagomedov but then I deleted this post.
“I wasn’t surprised at all when I learned that team member Khabib Nurmagomedov tested positive for steroids. Hypocrites of the highest order. Steroids are haram! Fraudsters! Abdulmanap is rolling over in his grave,” McGregor wrote on the social network.
Later, the Irishman deleted the post about the Russian.
On November 12, it was learned that Nurmagomedov had been suspended for six months by the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) after testing positive for a banned substance.
The fighter himself later explained that the substance entered his body through medications prescribed by a doctor, which Usman did not inform the sports commission in advance.
Nurmagomedov is the Bellator lightweight champion with 18 wins in 18 career fights.
In October, he rose to third place in Bellator’s pound-for-pound rankings.
