The fight will take place in Saudi Arabia
Head of the promotion company Top Rank Bob Arum announced that on Thursday, November 16, an official press conference will be held for the unification fight for the title of absolute heavyweight champion between the WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO world champion Alexander Usik and WBC belt holder Tyson Fury.
“I can confirm that they will fight head-to-head in Saudi Arabia. On Thursday, in London, a press conference will be held to confirm the date and other details of the fight. I can’t wait to see it,” Arum said.
The fight for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion between WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO title holder Alexander Usik and WBC champion Tyson Fury is scheduled to take place on February 17. The fight will take place in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
The fight between Usik and Fury was planned to be organized on December 23 in Riyadh. However, it later became clear that the “Gypsy King” would not have time to prepare for this time after the fight with ex-UFC champion Francis Ngannou.
The Ukrainian’s promoter Alexander Krasyuk said that the unification fight between Usik and WBC belt holder Tyson Fury will not take place on December 23 and will be held in early 2024. The reason for the transfer was the damage Fury suffered in his last fight with Ngannou.
