The undefeated American lightweight still wants to fight the Ukrainian boxer.
Shakur Stevenson says that Vasiliy Lomachenko defeated the former undisputed champion of their division, Devin Haney.
The American boxer remembered that fight and said again that he wanted to meet the Ukrainian in the ring, because he considered him one of the strongest representatives of the division. Shakur is looking forward to fighting Lomachenko next year.
“Lomachenko and I will fight next. His team said he wants to rest the rest of the year, so I will do the dirty work and get the WBC belt. I think we should make this fight. This fight looks big to me.
I think he beat Haney. I don’t know who is behind it or what happened. It is very strange. I think Lomachenko beat him. I scored it 7-5 for the rounds,” Stevenson told Sporting News.
Let’s remember that in May of this year, Lomachenko suffered a controversial defeat from Haney by unanimous decision.
It was previously known when Lomachenko would enter the ring.
