French mixed martial arts fighter Francis Ngannou is ranked tenth in the World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight rankings, reports the organization’s press service.
In October, Ngannou lost by split decision to Britain’s Tyson Fury, current holder of the WBC belt, in a 10-round boxing match in Saudi Arabia.
“Ngannou did an outstanding job against the WBC heavyweight champion, which is why the WBC board of directors decided to place him at No. 10 in the heavyweight rankings,” the WBC said in a statement.
Ngannou, 37, has 17 wins and three losses in MMA. He is a former UFC heavyweight champion.
