Deputy Minister of Sports of Dagestan Budun Budunov told that the department would, if necessary, provide assistance to former member of the Russian freestyle wrestling team Gamzat Osmanov, injured in the explosion of a grenade.
On Thursday, the Mash Gor Telegram channel reported that Osmanov, who serves as deputy head of the urban district administration of the city of Buinaksk, was injured in the explosion of a flash grenade in Dagestan. The official’s left hand was torn off and he was rushed to hospital.
– A very good guy, decent, efficient, from a good family. I am sure that doctors will do everything possible to restore health. The Ministry of Sports will get involved, we will help if necessary,” Budunov told .
Osmanov, 30, is a former freestyle wrestler. As a member of the Russian national team, he became European champion among cadets in 2009, and as a member of the Azerbaijani national team he participated in the World and European Championships.
