The championship boxing match between Alexander Usik and Tyson Fury will take place on February 17, 2024 in Saudi Arabia.

On Thursday, November 16, a press conference was held in London where the fight between WBO, WBA, IBO and IBF world super heavyweight champion Alexander Usik and WBC title holder Tyson Fury was officially announced.

The Usyk-Fury fight will take place on February 17, 2024 in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).

The fight for the title of absolute world champion was planned to take place on December 23, 2023, but it was postponed due to the injury Fury received in a fight against former UFC champion Francis Ngannou at the end of October.

The winner of the Usyk-Fury fight will become the first absolute world champion in the super heavyweight division in the 21st century. All four championship belts are at stake: three (WBA, WBO and IBF) belonging to Usyk, as well as Fury’s WBC title.

The Ukrainian made a mandatory defense of his championship belt in August. Usyk defeated British WBA contender Daniel Dubois by knockout in the ninth round.

The 36-year-old Usik’s track record includes 21 victories (14 by knockout) in 21 fights. He spent five of them in the heavyweight division. Before this, Alexander became the absolute world champion in the cruiserweight (weight category up to 90.7 kg), winning all four of the most prestigious belts there.

The 35-year-old Fury has 34 wins (24 by knockout) and one draw in professional boxing.

Let’s remember that earlier the promoter spoke about the financial conditions of the fight between Usyk and Fury. Boxers already know the amount they will earn at the end of the fight.

Usyk does not believe that the fight against Fury will be difficult. The Ukrainian boxer jokingly said that he has never had any difficult fights in his career.
