American UFC fighter Kyle Dakas has announced via social media that he has undergone surgery. The athlete received multiple facial fractures in a fight against Georgia representative Roman Dolidze, after missing a knee strike. He ended up losing by knockout in the first round.
“I just wanted to tell everyone what’s going on with my face and why it’s so swollen and everything. I was kneed, my face was smashed in three places. The operation went well. They put three plates in my face, but the one in front of my eyes isn’t really a plate. It just sticks to my bone, so it will eventually become one, unlike the ones screwed into my face and cheekbone,” Dakas said.
Dakas, 29, has nine wins and three losses in his career.
