PFL acquired Bellator and plans tournament of champions for 2024

Next year there will be fights between the strongest fighters from both organizations

American fighting organization PFL (Professional Fighters League) acquired the brand Bellator MMA as part of a landmark deal for the world of combat sports.

Paramount will remain a minority owner of Bellator. Other details of the transaction are not reported.

The Bellator brand will operate as a “reimagined product” within the PFL in 2024. At the same time, athletes under contract with the organization will be able to compete on various platforms of the new parent company.

The PFL’s main idea for 2024 is a “mega-event”, which will feature fights between the best champions from both organizations. One of them could be the long-awaited women’s fight between Cris Cyborg and Kayla Harrison.

Under contract with PFL, among others, are former UFC champion Francis Ngannou, who recently gave a worthy fight against elite boxer Tyson Fury, as well as popular blogger Jake Paul, who is successfully trying himself in various types of martial arts.

The PFL structure will now include five fighting “franchises”: the PFL League Main Season, PFL Super Fight League, PFL Challenger Series, PFL International Leagues and Bellator.

Let us remind you that the other day Ukrainian Yaroslav Amosov lost to Jamaican fighter Jason Jackson and lost the Bellator welterweight title. The fight took place in American Chicago as part of the Bellator 301 tournament.
