The organization will not designate an opponent for the belt in the event of two fights.

Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury should meet in the ring at least twice. WBC President Maurice Sulaiman said the organization has decided not to appoint a mandatory challenger to fight for Tyson Fury’s belt.

The only condition for allowing the match is a rematch.

“The fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usik is for the undisputed championship. The WBC sanctioned this fight with the specific condition of a rematch.

During last year’s congress, we decided to carry out mandatory procedures. These matches did not go well. The WBC will not consider a mandatory position at this time.

On December 23, there will be many fights that will affect the heavyweight rankings. There are no proposals yet for the final selection. We have a world champion fighting for the undisputed championship and at least one more match confirmed after that. There is no mandatory process for the applicant,” said Suleiman in an interview with Boxing scene.

We remind you that the first fight between Tyson Fury and Alexander Usik is scheduled to take place on February 17, 2024 in Saudi Arabia.

Earlier, Usik said if he would give Fury a chance to get revenge if he wins the first fight.
