Athletistic/MMA. Former UFC light heavyweight champion, Czech MMA fighter Jiri Prochazka, has turned his attention to undefeated Swedish-Arab fighter of Chechen origin Khamzat Chimaev.
“I am happy to welcome you to the light heavyweight division,” Prochazka wrote on his social media page.
Zamzat Chimaev now sits ninth in the UFC middleweight rankings. And Prohaska is second in the light heavyweight division rankings.
Khamzat Chimaev was born in the village of Gvardeyskoye (Nadterechny district, Chechen Republic). At the age of 16, he moved to Sweden with his family as a refugee. For several years he worked in a factory and as security at a nightclub. In Sweden, he practiced freestyle wrestling and participated in competitions, becoming the country’s champion in two weight categories: welterweight and middleweight. In MMA, he has currently fought 13 fights and achieved 13 victories.
