Russian MMA fighter Mikhail Dolgov said that during the fight at the ASA 166 tournament he will show the weaknesses of his compatriot Ibrahim Magomedov .
The middleweight Grand Prix quarterfinal fight between Dolgov and Magomedov will headline the ACA 166 tournament, which will take place on November 24 in St. Petersburg. Dolgov has nine wins and five losses in MMA, while Magomedov has 10 wins and two losses.
“Two weeks before the fight with Magomedov, I fell seriously ill and had to go to the hospital. Everything is fine now, we are in very good shape. I radically revised my training approach, I started working with a new physical trainer, Jem, he is an excellent specialist who ensures that I do not overtrain and approach the fight at the top of my form . We worked on striking techniques, and therefore did not forget the fight, a lot of work on endurance, since our fight will last 5 rounds. The team and I have worked well and are ready to defeat Magomedov, ideally ahead of schedule.
My ambitions in MMA are to become the strongest fighter in my weight category, win the belt and win the Grand Prix. It won’t be easy. But I have character, hard work, perseverance and faith in God, I don’t need anything else. Gasanov is already waiting in the semifinals. He is a dominant champion and that says it all, the task is not easy, but no one is invincible.
Magomedov is a good opponent, a versatile and complete fighter, it is not for nothing that he occupies fifth place in the ranking. On November 24, he will show his weaknesses in a fight with me. I want to tell the fans not to miss our match. And may my opponent not underestimate me. I am ready and I hope he is too,” said Dolgov, whose remarks to were provided by the ASA press service.
The ACA 166 tournament will live stream “Match!” Fighter”, the broadcast begins on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Moscow time.
