The final of the Continental Judo League, a new international tournament for men’s club teams, will take place in Moscow on December 2.
The competition will take place at the International Sambo Center in the capital and will bring together representatives of the teams of Russia and Tajikistan: “Akhmat” (Grozny), “Rodina” and “Ural-Western Siberia” (both Yekaterinburg), “Lokomotiv Green -Hill” (Nalchik), “Dynamo” (Ufa), “SORBIS” (Moscow), “Turbostroitel” (St. Petersburg) and “Khoji Sharif” (Dushanbe).
The finalist teams include bronze medalists of the Tokyo Olympics Tamerlan Bashaev and Niyaz Ilyasov, bronze medalist of the World Championship Yakub Shamilov (all – “Akhmat”), European champion Alan Khubetsov and medalist of the tournaments of the world series Abdula Abduljalilov (both – “Ural -Western Siberia), the champion of Russia Niyaz Bilalov, the winners of the European Championship Kantemir Kodzov, Timur Arbuzov, Rolan Kunizhev and Ibragimgadzhi Suleymanov (all from Lokomotiv Green Hill).
In the opening matches of the final, the winners of the previous stage of the League will not meet: “Akhmat”, “Ural-Western Siberia”, “Lokomotiv Green-Hill” and “SORBIS”. The exact composition of the pairs will be determined during the draw, which will take place on December 1.
The first fights of the Continental Judo League will begin at 12:00 (Moscow time), and the evening block will begin at 17:00 (Moscow time). The competition will take place according to the Olympic system without repechage bouts.
The prize fund for the final of the Continental Judo League will amount to six million rubles.
