The former world champion shared his impressions of the Briton’s last fight against Ngannou.
Tyson Fury didn’t take much of the fight against Francis Ngannou which is why he almost lost to the former UFC fighter. Former world champion Ricky Hatton thinks.
In his opinion, there is both bad news for Fury and good news. The Briton hopes his compatriot can draw the right conclusions from his performance in Saudi Arabia and be better prepared for the match against Usik.
“I think Fury will be better against Usyk than he was last time. He doesn’t need me to say it, but I think he will be better.
In his last fight, Fury didn’t take much of his opponent. I think he could have approached the fight in slightly better shape. I went to Saudi Arabia for this fight, and Tyson seemed to forget why he was there!
He forgot why he came! He’s fighting a UFC fighter making his boxing debut and I think Fury is just ignoring it. Maybe it’s not so bad, because before the fight with Oleksandr Usyk, Fury will know: “I have no right to perform like this anymore.”
Many thought that Tyson could lose to Ngannou or “This is the end of the fight with Usyk.” But Fury will be ready for the fight with Usik. He has to be ready because only the best version of Tyson Fury can beat this guy,” Hatton said as quoted by talkSPORT.
Let’s remember that former world champion Billy Joe Saunders called Fury’s form against Ngannou the worst of his career.
