The British super heavyweight boxer spoke about the tactics of his compatriot, Tyson Fury.
To beat Oleksandr Usyk, you have to use your size. That’s what Dereck Chisora thinks. The famous British super heavyweight recalled his fight with the Ukrainian boxer.
Despite the loss, Chisora believes he did the right thing. Chisora also gave advice to his compatriot for the fight for the title of absolute world champion.
“I would bet on Fury to beat Usyk. But if this is the same Fury who boxed Ngannou, then I don’t think he will do it. When you box in Saudi Arabia, you should be at all the events: dinners , meetings, press conferences – you have to deal with many distractions. On the day of the fight, you will still be invited to lunch with the sheikhs. The first time you are truly alone is when you enter the ring. And if you refuse and show character, you will be accused of disrespecting the local culture.”
Chisora noted that to beat Usyk you need to land as many punches as possible.
“I showed everyone how to fight Usyk. Although people prefer not to use it. Stay in shape and use your size advantage. I told this to Daniel Dubois, but he didn’t listen to me. When you fight Get in the ring and he starts moving his arms up and down and you start moving with him, you’re in trouble. All you have to do is hit him when he moves his arms. He’s a very good, amazing fighter. And if you let him be that amazing fighter, he will beat you,” Boxing Scene quotes Chisora.
We remind you that the Usyk-Fury fight is scheduled for February 17 in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh.
Otto Wallin previously explained why Usyk will lose to Fury.
