Lomachenko is in talks with Kambosos about a fight in April 2024

The favorite to host the event is the RAC Arena in Perth

Former world champion in three weight categories Vasily Lomachenko is in talks with an Australian boxer George Kambosos regarding the fight for the vacant title IBF.

The event is planned to be held in Australia in April 2024. Arenas in Melbourne, Perth, Sydney and Adelaide are interested in hosting the fight. The main favorite to organize the event is the ROC Arena in Perth, which seats 15 thousand spectators.

The fight is expected to be officially announced after the IBF declares its lightweight title vacant. This is set to happen following the undisputed champion Devin Haney vs. Regis Prograis at junior welterweight on December 9th.

Lomachenko fought his last fight in May 2023, losing to Devin Haney in the fight for the title of absolute world champion. After the defeat, Vasily decided to take a vacation until the end of the year.

In his last fight, Kambosos defeated Briton Maxie Hughes to win the IBO lightweight title. George also became number two in the IBF rankings. Third on the list according to this version in lightweight is Lomachenko.
