Athletistic/MMA. Irish police have opened an investigation into former UFC champion in two weight categories Conor McGregor. The fighter is suspected of inciting ethnic hatred.

According to Yahoo, law enforcement attention was drawn to McGregor’s social media posts during the riots in Dublin. Conor wrote that he did not approve of the unrest, but at the same time called for changes in the country and criticized the Irish government. In another article, McGregor listed a number of crimes allegedly committed by immigrants against the Irish population. The fighter then warned that if the Government “does not quickly provide an action plan to keep Ireland safe” it will “take matters into its own hands”.

It should be noted that due to the unrest, the police arrested 34 people. In the country’s capital, 13 stores were destroyed or looted, 11 police cars were destroyed and three public transport buses were set on fire.

On July 10, 2021, the UFC 264 mixed martial arts tournament took place in Las Vegas (USA), in the main fight of which Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier fought. Poirier won in the first round after McGregor broke his leg. Since then, the Irishman has continued to recover from his injury. In total, the 35-year-old Irishman has 28 MMA fights: he has won 22 victories and suffered six defeats.
