UFC fighter Tony Ferguson sentenced to a one-year suspended prison sentence for drunk driving, MMA Fighting reports, citing court data.
As reported, as part of an agreement with the prosecutor’s office, the drunk driving charge against him was dropped and the article was reclassified as “reckless driving on wet roads.” The American accepted Nolo pretendere – this means that the accused in a criminal case admits a guilty verdict, but does not admit guilt.
The incident occurred in May this year in Hollywood (United States). Ferguson crashed his van into two cars parked outside a nightclub. The fighter’s car overturned and no one was injured in the accident. Ferguson was arrested at the scene.
Ferguson is 39 years old and has suffered five defeats in his last five UFC fights. In total, he has 25 victories and nine defeats. During the UFC 296 tournament in Las Vegas, the American will face the British Paddy Pimblett on December 16.
