Froch: Fury will want to relax over Christmas and New Year. I think his fight with Usyk will be postponed to March

The former world champion believes that it will not be easy for the “Gypsy King” to spend the New Year holidays without violating the regime

Former world super middleweight champion Carl Froch suggested that the fight for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion between Tyson Fury And Alexander Usik may be postponed to March.

“Listen, Tyson needs to get through Christmas and New Year, don’t relax, don’t drink, don’t overeat. I know he doesn’t need to gain weight, but there is still an optimal weight, and he’s putting on a few pounds, isn’t he, Tyson? He has certain qualities that he needs to curb before the fight.”

“It won’t be easy. He has a wonderful family, a wife and seven children, so he will want to relax and have a good time. Will he want to train for Christmas and New Year? And he will have to do this if he is preparing for competitions. February event? I’m not sure, I think the fight will be postponed to March.”

The Usik-Fury fight for the title of absolute heavyweight champion will officially take place on February 17 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Initially, the event was planned to be organized on December 23. However, it later became clear that the “Gypsy King” would not have time to prepare for this time after the fight with Francis Ngannou at the end of October.

Fury defeated Ngannou via split decision. It was reported that the Briton received two cuts in a fight with the former UFC champion.

Usik fought his last fight on August 27 in Wroclaw, Poland. The Ukrainian knocked out Daniel Dubois in the 9th round and defended his championship titles.
