Krasyuk: We want to beat Fury at his best. Then Usik will happily give Tyson a rematch

The promoter believes that the Gypsy King should prepare properly and will be in better shape than against Ngannou

Alexander Krasyukpromoter of the WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Alexandra Usikaspoke in detail about the upcoming fight of his ward against the WBC champion Tyson Fury.

“Let me say that the fight with Francis Ngannou did not change Usyk’s outlook. He is a very thoughtful and wise man and understands that sometimes shitty days happen, and this was an absolutely lousy day for Tyson. The reasons may be different. But that doesn’t mean that on February 17 we will see Tyson Fury, who fought Francis Ngannou.”

“As a team, we have discussed this issue and believe that this will be the biggest and most difficult fight of Tyson Fury’s career. He knows how hard he will have to train and work to get into the ring with the unified heavyweight and former undisputed heavyweight champion. Tyson underestimated Ngannou because he didn’t think he was a boxer. But Usyk is a boxer and he will take it as seriously as he should.”

“There is a difference in size, a difference in weight, a difference in boxing experience, boxing IQ, footwork, and also a difference in amateur experience. If you add up all the factors in a table, there is no 100% answer – the answer will be found within 12 rounds, and this is a fight for the undisputed heavyweight title, and you cannot guarantee who will win, but I am confident because I know how much work Usyk does at the training camp and how many challenges he overcomes.”

“I can’t argue with Tyson that the winner depends on God, but Usyk has become different and is a former undisputed heavyweight champion and unified heavyweight champion, but he’s extremely humble about it. But I know Tyson can overcome his arrogance and work hard in training camp, and that’s what we want. We want this fight to be a terrifying, tough fight to beat Tyson Fury at his best because the value of the win becomes very high.”

“Yes, we discussed that in any case, when you have a blockbuster fight, you should see a sequel. We’re dealing with Tyson Fury and sometimes he’ll have a bad day, even two in a row, and he’s the one to complain about it. But Alexander will gladly give him revenge.”

The Usik-Fury fight for the title of absolute heavyweight champion will officially take place on February 17 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Initially, the event was planned to be organized on December 23. However, it later became clear that the “Gypsy King” would not have time to prepare for this time after the fight with Francis Ngannou at the end of October.

Fury defeated Ngannou via split decision. It was reported that the Briton received two cuts in a fight with the former UFC champion.

Usik fought his last fight on August 27 in Wroclaw, Poland. The Ukrainian knocked out Daniel Dubois in the 9th round and defended his championship titles.
