The Akhmat team from Grozny won gold in the final of a new international tournament among men’s club teams – the Continental Judo League.
The competitions took place at the International Sambo Center in the capital. In the final of the tournament, Akhmat defeated the Ural-West Siberia team with a score of 3:2.
“Akhmat” was represented by Yakub Shamilov (up to 66 kg), Ayub Khazhaliev (up to 73 kg), Abas Azizov (up to 81 kg), Turpal Tepkaev (up to 90 kg) and Akhmed Magomadov (more 90 kg).
The competition was held according to the Olympic system without repechage bouts.
The prize fund for the final of the Continental Judo League amounted to six million rubles.
