Garcia knocked out Duarte in the eighth round

The emphasis on powerful punches brought results to the American

American boxer Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) defeated the Mexican by knockout Oscar Duarte (26-2-1, 21 KO). The fight became the central event of the evening at the Toyota Center in Houston, America.

At the beginning of the fight the fight was approximately equal. Next, Garcia began to more actively use powerful blows. Duarte responded with successful body shots in the sixth round, but Ryan again took the initiative.

In the eighth round, the American managed a powerful series of blows. Garcia took advantage of the situation and sent his opponent to the platform. Duarte tried to get up, but the referee did not believe in his ability to continue the fight and scored a knockout.

Garcia won for the first time since his only loss to Gervonta Davis. Duarte ended his nearly five-year winning streak.
