According to the ex-champion, the “Gypsy King” is the best in the world, but under certain conditions
Former two-time world welterweight champion Shawn Porter predicted the outcome of the fight between the holder of the WBC heavyweight belt Tyson Fury and WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO champion Alexander Usik.
“Tyson is big, strong, smart. I believe that when Fury prepares to fight, he is the best in the world. This is not a criticism. I’m not criticizing him for the Ngannou fight, I’m just talking about it. You’ve seen Fury do better.”
“I think that a fight with a fighter like Usyk will force Tyson to show the best version of himself. I think Fury is unbeatable when he’s the best version of himself.”
The Usik-Fury fight for the title of absolute heavyweight champion will officially take place on February 17 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Initially, the event was planned to be organized on December 23. However, it later became clear that the “Gypsy King” would not have time to prepare for this time after the fight with Francis Ngannou at the end of October.
Fury defeated Ngannou via split decision. It was reported that the Briton received two cuts in a fight with the former UFC champion.
Usik fought his last fight on August 27 in Wroclaw, Poland. The Ukrainian knocked out Daniel Dubois in the 9th round and defended his championship titles.
