The former absolute lightweight champion shared his memories of fighting the Ukrainian boxer.

Devin Haney once again declared his fair victory in the fight for the title of absolute world champion against Vasily Lomachenko.

According to the American boxer, he took enough rounds from the Ukrainian to consider himself the winner. And Haney accused everyone with different opinions of being biased and hating on him.

“People like me a lot. I don’t know why.

But everything is like this. Accept because I can? I am me. It’s wrong if they do anything else. If they show me so much love, I ask, “What’s wrong with them? Do they think I’m not a real person or something?”

Therefore, we have what we have. They hate the great and then respect and praise them. So they can say what they want. I know what kind of fighter I am, self-confident, keep beating everything they put in front of me, one by one.

It will be a tough fight with Lomachenko, that’s for sure. By far, this was the toughest match of my career. He is competitive, which confuses and confuses people. They say competitive boxing is robbery. Close fights are considered a robbery, but they are not. I really feel that Lomachenko won. Taking a lot of rounds early when Vasily only had two big rounds made people think he did more in the ring than he actually did. But the last round is the round I needed, I took it,” Haney was quoted as saying by Boxing Scene.

Let’s remember that in May, Haney defeated Lomachenko by decision – 116-112 and twice 115-113. The American will fight his next fight on December 9 against WBC welterweight champion Regis Prograis.

Earlier, the date of Lomachenko’s next fight against George Kambosos was announced.
