The Russian team won first place in the overall team standings at the World Boxing Championships among boys and girls aged 15-16, which took place in Yerevan.
More than 350 athletes from 51 countries participated in the competition which took place from November 24 to December 4. Russian boxers competed under their own flag and their own anthem.
The Russians won seven gold, two silver and seven bronze medals. With 16 awards, the Russian team took first place as a team. The women’s team won 10 medals – four gold, two silver and four bronze, while the men’s team won six medals – three gold and three bronze.
The second place in the team competition was won by the Armenian team, the third place was taken by the Uzbek team.
