Wilder: Our fight with Joshua is planned no matter the outcome of the upcoming fights

Two former world champions will hold a joint boxing evening on December 23

Former world champion American Deontay Wilder confirmed that he plans to fight with another ex-champion in the heavyweight division, Anthony Joshua.

“Our fight with Joshua is planned. It can take place, no matter what the outcome of our upcoming fights is. Of course, our victories will make this fight more interesting, it will look better on paper.”

“I think Anthony will beat Wallin. I will definitely win and we will finally get this fight once and for all. These are the plans, and everything is moving towards their implementation. I’m looking forward to doing what I have to do on December 23rd. That’s what I’m primarily focused on right now. I have to go through Joseph Parker first and then we can talk about future plans.”

Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua will hold a joint boxing evening on December 23 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Deontay will fight Joseph Parker, and AJ will fight Swedish heavyweight Otto Wallin. The event is expected to bring closer the conclusion of a contract for the fight between the two former champions.

Promoter Eddie Hearn said that the Wilder-Joshua fight is planned to be organized in the spring of 2024. World Boxing Council (WBC) President Mauricio Sulaiman suggested that the winner of the hypothetical fight could count on the status of an official contender for the title.

Joshua knocked out Robert Helenius in his last fight, which took place on August 12 in London. Wilder’s last opponent was also Helenius – the American won by knockout in the first round.
