UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones said calls to strip him of his title are ridiculous.
Earlier, the holder of the interim champion belt in the weight category, Tom Aspinall, said that Jones would have to vacate the title due to time out.
“During my career, I have faced the toughest opponents in MMA. Before defending my title, I suffered an injury as a result of which I had surgery for the first time in my career. And now the newcomers are asking me to take off my belt. 0 title defenses, 0 victories over legends. They think they can give Dana White ultimatums. It’s hilarious – wrote Jones on social media.
During his professional career, the 27-year-old Jones has won 27 times and suffered one defeat. In his last fight in March 2023, he defeated Cyril Gun by submission to become the UFC heavyweight champion.
