Russian mixed martial arts fighter Come Galiev On , he spoke about his Brazilian opponent Hacran Diaz and admitted that he doesn’t like to engage in trash talk before fights.
The lightweight fight between Galiev and Diaz will take place on December 8 at the ACA 167 tournament in Ufa.
— Any special emotions before fighting in your native country?
— The feelings are twofold: I want to perform in front of my local audience, but I also understand the price of responsibility. When you fight in a city other than yours, everything is much simpler. I was beaten and left, but now that they are calling and writing, the tension is starting to show.
—What can you say about your opponent?
— Hakran is a great all-rounder! He can work standing, wrestling and on the ground as well. He’s a basic grappler, although his striking is decent. I’m a basic fighter, but little by little I also mastered striking techniques. During a fight, you can look for options to fight if it doesn’t work in your favor.
— How is communication constructed? Is there trash talk?
— Trash talk is not my style. I don’t see the point in doing something new, in presenting myself to the public in a new way. As I have behaved, so will I. If people start promoting the struggle in one way or another, then this poses an additional moral burden and responsibility. I try to minimize additional charges. Maybe the league doesn’t like it. But that’s who I am. I think I have a discount because I am an old training fighter.
—Is your opponent a good and well-bred guy? Or a scoundrel?
– I have no such information. But according to the video of the fights, it works cleanly, without dirt. I haven’t heard his scandalous interviews. A professional in his field! Yes, I don’t even remember an opponent making me angry. Treat everyone like work.
– Do you have a battle plan ready? How likely is a quick completion?
— I never expect a quick victory. Additionally, he never lost earlier than expected. There will be times, of course, that I will try to complete. But I’m preparing for a full fight.
– Why is your opponent dangerous? Does he have a crown?
– There is no obvious crown. He’s a jack of all trades. We must be ready for anything. We don’t know where the danger comes from. I usually watch my opponent’s last fight and his big fights. But really, no. Because I’m starting to get nervous. Before a fight, I don’t look at my opponent at all, I get distracted and don’t think about him. It’s easier for me this way.
Watch and have fun, enjoy the show! Don’t miss this opportunity! – said Galiev on .
Galiev, 48, has 35 victories and 14 defeats. The Brazilian Diaz is 39 years old. He won 27 fights, lost ten, and one fight with his participation ended in a draw.
