Ilyas Musaev signs six-figure contract with ONE Championship on December 8

The fight by 22-year-old Russian Ilyas Musayev will headline the ONE Friday Fights 44 tournament, which will be held at Lumpini Stadium in Bangkok on December 8.

Musaev must face his Thai opponent in order to start a winning streak and have a chance to sign a contract with the ONE Championship main roster.

Musaev will compete in a fight under Muay Thai rules in the ONE bantamweight division (65.8 kg). He trains at the Thai Venum gym and represents Team Mehdi Zatout. He has 10 victories and 3 defeats. All losses came during ONE Friday Fights performances against Thai fighters.

Musaev’s opponent is 21-year-old Yod IQ, who represents the PK Saenchai gym and has 177 victories to his name. His strengths are his refined counter punches and devastating kicks, which allow him to compete at the highest level.

Musaev began his ONE career with a second-round knockout of Panrit in February this year. However, this brilliant debut was followed by three consecutive unanimous decision defeats. In October, Musaev knocked out Thai Otop in the last second of the first round, giving him a chance to win back.

In total, the ONE FRIDAY FIGHTS 44 card featured nine Muay Thai fights and three MMA fights. The broadcast of the tournament will begin on December 8 at 3:30 p.m. Moscow time on the channel.
