The fight will take place in San Francisco on December 9
WBC world junior welterweight champion Regis Prograis and former undisputed world lightweight champion Devin Haney held a weigh-in ceremony before their fight.
Haney showed exactly 140 pounds (63.5 kilograms) on the scales, fitting right into the junior welterweight division. Let us remind you that Devin will hold his first fight in this category. Prograis was lighter than his opponent – 139 pounds (63.05 kg).
On December 9, the 12-round fight will be the central event of the boxing evening in San Francisco. The boxers will fight for Prograis’ WBC belt at the Chase Center, home of the NBA’s Golden State Warriors.
Previously, the WBC allowed Devin to change divisions for the title fight. Haney also finally renounced the lightweight belts.
In his last fight, Haney defeated Ukrainian Lomachenko in the fight for the title of absolute world lightweight champion. Prograis defended his junior welterweight title with a split decision win over Danielito Zorrilla in June.
