UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev and ex-champion of the organization in two weight categories, Irish Conor McGregor attended the “IBA Champions Night” boxing tournament in Dubai, which will be marked by fights with the participation of Russians.
Makhachev’s last fight took place in December in Abu Dhabi, when the Russian defeated Australian Alexander Volkanovski in the first round.
The tournament takes place on Saturday in the United Arab Emirates as part of the International Boxing Forum. Olympic champion Evgeniy Tishchenko will challenge for the vacant WBA belt in the new weight category up to 101.6 kg against German Leon Hart.
Batyrgaziev, winner of the 2020 Games, will box for the first ever IBA professional 60kg belt against multiple Olympic medalist Lazaro Alvarez.
Also as part of this show, two-time world champion and 2020 Olympic silver medalist Muslim Gadzhimagomedov will meet German Arthur Mann, and 2021 world champion Mark Petrovsky will be tested by former WBA regular champion, l ‘Australian Lucas Browne.
The “IBA Champions Night” tournament will be broadcast live on the channel, starting December 9 at 10:00 p.m. Moscow time.
