Russian UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev stated that he did not intend to compete until he was 40 and that the ideal end to his career would be to win and defend two UFC belts.
Makhachev currently holds the championship belt, having made two defenses in 2023 against Australian fighter Alexander Volkanovski. The 32-year-old Makhachev’s statistics in the UFC are 25 wins and 1 loss.
— My dream fight is for the second belt. This is what motivates me at the moment.
— An ideal end to your career?
– Win both belts, defend both. It is for me the highest diploma currently. I won’t play for 40 years, maybe for a few years, ”reports a correspondent, reporting Makhachev’s words.
