In the early hours of this Sunday, the 10th, the UFC returned to the most famous octagon in the world, located in Las Vegas, in the United States. On the main card, a duel between bantamweights shook the structures and crowned the Chinese Song Yadong category champion, against the American Chris Gutierrezwho were defeated at home.
Even with all the expectations, the fight wasn’t the best in itself, considering the technical level, but Yadong had a great performance, giving his opponent no chance and dominating every corner of the octagon. Controlling the fight until the end, the Chinese beat Gutierrez unanimously by the judges’ decision, after the end of the last round.
From the beginning, the Chinese marked the fight with more attitude, going forward and bothering the American with a series of kicks. However, even in the first round, Gutierrez managed to return in kind, leaving the fight balanced and with many exchanges, but without much emotion or high points.
In the second round, the North American went head-to-head, didn’t get intimidated and showed off his good foot strikes, but was unable to avoid a takedown caused by Yadong. On the ground, Gutierrez suffered and tried to rehearse a reaction, but was dominated by the Chinese, who did not finish the fight, but continued calmly from that point on.
The event saw the participation of five Brazilians, but only two emerged victorious from the Octagon. Luana Santos had a complicated fight against Stephanie Eggerbut won the triumph, just as Talita Alencarwho won for the first time in the category against Rayanne Almeida.
