American boxer Devin Haney beat compatriot Regis Prograis in a fight for the World Boxing Council (WBC) junior welterweight title.
The fight took place on Saturday in San Francisco (USA) and lasted 12 rounds, as a result of which the judges unanimously gave victory to Haney. Judges’ scores: 120-107, 120-107, 120-107.
In May, Haney defeated Ukrainian Vasily Lomachenko by unanimous decision and defended his title as absolute lightweight world champion. In November, it became known that the 25-year-old American had relinquished his lightweight title.
Haney has 31 wins in 31 fights in the professional ring, while Prograis, 34, has 29 wins and two losses.
