‘Covington really isn’t a rival for Edwards’ – AMC Fight Nights champion Bikrev

The UFC champion is British Leon Edwards will not give the Americans any chance Colby Covington . This review was shared with by the AMC Fight Nights welterweight champion Dmitry Bikrev .

Edwards will defend his UFC welterweight title against Covington in the main event of UFC 296 on Dec. 16 in Las Vegas. Edwards has 21 victories and three defeats, the Briton is on a streak of 11 consecutive victories in the UFC (also during the series there was a fight that was declared invalid). In his last two fights, Edwards defeated Kamaru Usman.

Covington has 17 wins and three losses in MMA. Since December 2019, the American has only fought four fights, losing twice to Usman. In his last fight, Covington defeated Jorge Masvidal in March 2022.

— Edwards has changed a lot. In the second fight with Usman he played very well, I saw for myself very good fight defense. I think Covington just won’t be able to offer Edwards anything other than pushing him to the net or moving forward. I think the attempts will be in vain and Edwards will beat him, leaving him with nothing. I think Covington really isn’t a rival for Edwards. His time is over, as sad as it is to realize it. The same thing happened with Kamaru Usman. I bet Edwards takes the fight with confidence. “I bet 80 to 20 in favor of Leon Edwards,” Bikrev told .

The UFC 296 tournament will be broadcast live on , broadcasting begins on December 17 at 06:00 Moscow time, and on Match! Fighter” – at 01:55 Moscow time.
